MeMaw’s MoonWater *
What is MeMaw’s MoonWater?
In the tradition of high alchemy, we recognize that water is not merely a physical substance, but a receptive, crystalline vessel capable of archiving celestial imprints. The creation of Memaw’s Moon Water is a process of sacred transmutation, where the lunar cycle serves as the primary engine of change. By aligning our craft with the moon’s phases, we capture the great light and power of the heavens, distilling it into a tangible elixir.
This work is a multi-week ritual journey, a meticulous gestation that begins in the fertile darkness of the New Moon and ascends toward the radiant climax of the Full Moon. It is a transition from the gathering of primordial elements to the high-frequency charging of the finished essence.
One must understand that for a truly powerful infusion, the base must be a blank slate. Mountain snow melt is the ultimate foundation because it is primordial and untouched. Having descended from the frozen peaks and traveled through the earth as it melts, it possesses a raw, virginal quality that makes it a powerful and effective base, ready to be programmed for any specific ritual intent.
As we align our will with the cosmos, the ritual commences with the physical act of collection under the veil of the New Moon.
As we align our will with the cosmos, the ritual commences with the physical act of collection under the veil of the New Moon.
The alchemical process begins precisely on the night of the New Moon. This is the moment of inception, where the void of the sky allows for the purest initial capture of the water.
The MeMaw’s always use glass jugs. Glass is non-negotiable; its molecular structure allows for the energetic imprint of lunar light without the interference of synthetic materials.
The MeMaw’s cleanse and sanitize both the vessel and themselves, after asking for blessings and protection of them and the trip to get the water, off they go for a 3 hour round trip trek up a mountain, down a road that is rarely travelled to the patch of green where the spring bubbles up to bring life to the forest and the blessing of its pristine water for our purposes.
The journey to the source must be undertaken with reverence. The MeMaw’s use a specific energetic nexus:
A secret mountain location, far removed from the static of the modern world.
A spring where melted snow passes close by, ensuring the water is fresh and vital.
The MeMaw’s are meticulous about ensuring the water is collected on the new moon for each month. This captures the water at the beginning of its life cycle, allowing the elixir to grow in resonance as the moon waxes toward its peak. This journey from the wild heights to our private altar initiates a period of daily cultivation.
Phase II: The Vigil
As the moon waxes, the water enters a period of gestation within the sacred geometry of MeMaw’s circle. This Vigil is critical; the water is acclimating to the spiritual frequency of our souls, past, present and future ensuring it does not suffer energetic fragmentation. or reject the gift of lunar infused light when it is finally hit with the high-voltage intensity of the Full Moon. The water is never left dormant. The MeMaw’s must perform daily offerings into the copper bowl and renew the blessing of the circle. These acts of devotion act as a softening agent, refining the receptivity of the water as the lunar energy builds toward its peak.
Phase III: The Culmination
The Full Moon represents the peak of celestial alignment, the moment of maximum distillation.
The day of the full moon sets off their final and most sacred powers.
This is the biggest sacrifice of the MeMaws, they have bowed to spend the day in meditation or silence. Ensuring their internal state is as clear as the glass jugs to prevent the loudness of the world from tainting the infusion.
Altar Preparation: Finalize the arrangement. Refresh the rose petals and ensure the crystals are perfectly positioned to channel the light into the water.
The Ritual
The very first thing the MeMaws tend to the morning of the full moon is to move the glass jugs to the altar for their moon bath.
Placement: Move the glass jugs to the center of the altar where they have an unobstructed, direct line of sight to the moon.
Timing: The water is left to bathe in the moon for as long as possible to give maximum exposure. Then as the moon peaks in its course across the sky they begin their incantation.
Specific Invocation: We are always sure to do plenty of research on all the moons and their various vibes to personalize and power up the water. When we perform the ceremony tailored to the specific moon of that month (e.g., the Wolf Moon or Flower Moon). The MeMaws are asking the moon to bless, charge, and infuse the water with her unique light and power.
Charging Duration
The water must remain exposed for the entire duration that the moon is visible in the sky. As soon as the moon slips from view or the sun begins to rise, the water must be moved immediately to a safe, darkened place to preserve the celestial imprint.
Once the peak has passed, the water has been transformed from mere snow-melt into a highly potent base, ready for specific intention-setting.
